The
implementation of the AMECEA/USCCB capacity building project begun with the
first phase of the project, which involved training in Church leadership for
bishops. All the AMECEA conferences sent a selected number of bishops to
partake in the course. The three-day intensive training began on 15th
and ended on 17th May.
The topics
being covered includes:

2.
Investments
3.
Strategic
Pastoral Planning Process, Monitoring and Evaluation
4.
Integral
Human Development
5.
Leadership
in the Church Institutions
6.
Social
Pastoral Communications
Other groups
which will be considered later for the same training include diocesan
secretaries, diocesan chancellors and diocesan development coordinators,
together with National Secretary generals, heads of Catholic Universities and
institutes of higher learning within AMECEA Region, staffs of national
secretariats, priests, laity and religious men and women who are involved in
different levels of leadership.
AMECEA is
optimistic that the training will go a long way in equipping the Church leaders
with necessary skills required in their pastoral duties. AMECEA is thankful for
the collaboration and support from the United States Conference of Catholic
Bishops (USCCB) and hopes that the good spirit will last for the benefit of
growth and development of Church in AMECEA Region.
